Happiness Is... About our Dolls

All our porcelain is long-fired (9 1/2-10 1/2 hours) to full maturity for maximum strength and translucency. Pieces are returned to the kiln approximately 5 to 7 times in the process of china painting the facial features. Posable dolls have sealed double armatures for strength and durability. All porcelain dolls with movable arms and legs, even the tiniest babies, are strung internally with no exposed wires or elastic to spoil the illusion of reality. Dolls and faeries are all 1/12 scale, miniature "dollhouse" dolls. Men are 5 7/8" to 6" tall from heel to top of pate. Ladies are 5 1/4" to 5 1/2" tall from heel to top of pate. As in real life, high heels, elaborate hair, or hats add to this measurement. Children are sized according to age, early teenagers being almost adult height. Although the dolls are cast from molds, each becomes one-of-a-kind during the cleaning, firing, painting and costuming process.
