Who We Are
|
|
Jerry and Sammy Smith live just off Cape Cod in Massachusetts in New England. Jerry (he's a boy) draws on his lifetime work and craftsmanship in the care and restoration of superior wooden yachts and love of antique furniture to build the furniture, most often taking measurements from the original pieces. The illusion of reality being of paramount importance, he sometimes must "tweak" the proportions so that they look correct in the reduced scale. Sammy (she's a girl), a retired artist and art teacher for 30 years, casts and costumes all the dolls but also gives her whimsical side free rein with the fairies and fantasy furniture. She particularly enjoys doing the research for historical costume (but does leave out the dagger marks or blood on murdered 16th century men). Together they do about 10 shows a year in the New England area. |
